Our Story
A message from our Managing Director, Frank O’Connor
First Aid Direct has come a long way since opening its doors to the local community and further afield nationwide in 1995. As a family business based in South Dublin, we understand the growing need and importance of ensuring sufficient health and safety training across all aspects of life from workplaces and schools to households and sporting occasions.
Health and Safety is covered under Irish and European law, and regardless of the business size, the laws apply to all employers, self-employed people and employees in their workplaces. The Health & Safety Authority’s (HSA) recent publication on ‘Guidance on Working from Home’ highlights the basic fact that responsibility of health and safety at work rests with the employer whether or not that work is being done at the employee’s home.
The HSA also states it is a common misconception that “health and safety will cost me and my business money”. This is furthest from the truth and here at First Aid Direct we believe in affordable training for every employer and employee. Be it First Aid Responder, Emergency First Aid, Paediatric First Aid, Manual Handling or Food Safety training etc we have you covered. Simply email or phone us today and our friendly team will take you step-by-step into helping you protect both your employees and your business.
Frank has a wealth of experience in this field having held the responsibility of Health & Safety Manager with renowned multinational chocolatier Cadburys for over 14 years. He is also a registered First Aid instructor and graduate from University College of Dublin in Sports Medicine. Away from the office, Frank is heavily involved and an avid supporter of local GAA club Ballyboden St Enda’s where he has played, managed and coached successful teams from underage to adult level. It is also a common sight to see him roaming the sidelines with a first aid kit at hand.
